As the world begins to cautiously reopen, Youth Services is considering steps in doing so as well. Here at Youth Services, we have been slowly allowing the clients with the highest needs to meet in-person as an alternative to virtual sessions. This summer, we are bringing back limited groups and also allowing for more clients to choose in-person.

How are we moving forward? We are watching numbers and following CDC and Illinois state guidelines carefully. We are working with FGK Services, Inc. for deep cleans multiple times each week, using innovative COVID-specific cleaning products, added sanitation bins to each room in the building, installed signs and antibacterial stands on each floor, and have closed our water fountains. Also, all therapy spaces now have HEPA air filters. Our staff is fully vaccinated and we are communicating when and where people are in the building to be sure we never have more than 50 people and we are spaced out accordingly.

The most special step we can take is utilizing our outdoor space. We are creating more opportunities for outdoor individual and group therapy, constructing additional seating areas, and freshening up our beautiful space to welcome clients in a way that feels safe and conducive to the critical work ahead of us.
